We have taken the 1895 Marlin and turned it into a tack driving rifle. Accuracy tests have shown MOA groups at 100 yards. Our proprietary rebarreling technique results in no stress imparted to barrel by magazine tube. We use only Pac-Nor match grade barrels. They have a smooth, hand lapped interior that will not lead like factory barrels. We carefully thread, chamber, and crown these in our shop. Chamber throats are slightly freebored for chambering cast bullets. Mag tube is lengthened to accept 6 rounds. This makes it flush with the end of barrel when cut to 18 1/2". Action is polished and trigger creep removed. A 1" Limbsaver or 1" Decelerator recoil pad is fitted to the stock. A choice of sights round out the package. Stock is bedded to receiver. Gun is refinished in a matte blue. This makes a great hunting rifle for most big game, especially with some of the new ammo available at the present time.

Some require more work than standard rebarreling. Inquire for cost.
Stainless guns are also welcome for modification at same cost as blue ones. All are beadblasted for a soft matte finish.
Rechambering of existing barrel: Rechamber .30-30 barrel to the Ackley Improved version- from $150
.348 DC: This is our newest caliber offering for the 1895 Marlin in .45/70 and should prove to be superior to any medium bore cartridge for the Marlin to date. It is made from the .45/70 case necked down to .348 caliber and shortened to 2". No fireforming is needed. Maximum OAL length is 2.55". Bullets are available from Hornady, Barnes, and Hawk along with a few custom makers. Velocities are as follows from a 22" barrel: 180 gr. @2700, 200 gr. @2600, 220 gr. @2500, 250 gr. @2300. The cartridge is easy to load and seems to be at its best with Reloader 15. Conversion to the .348 DC includes a new match grade barrel from 18-24" long, reinstall factory sights if wanted, and a set of Hornady custom dies with all reloading and case forming data. $1050 on your 1895 .45/70. Many options are available to add to this if desired.
I prefer to use the 1895SS with its pistol grip stock to build big bore rifles. It handles recoil much better than the straight stock. Other chamberings will be considered where feasible. We take proper cartridge feeding of the Marlin leveraction seriously. Everything possible is done to correct any problems. Actions are checked with a variety of ammo and adjusted as needed. Stainless base guns are slightly higher and will be beadblasted to a matte finish. Packages can be customized to suit the individual needs of the customer. Stainless barrels can be used when necessary at above prices. When ordering packages with recoil pad installation, please specify LOP desired. On all Marlin packages, the forearm hanger and mag tube stud will be permanently installed with silver solder to keep them from coming loose under recoil. 24" is the maximum length barrel I currently install.
Special tuneup package for Marlin/Remington SBL stainless guns only- Completely dissassemble gun, action job 3-3.5# creep free trigger, test feeding with several different ammos and adjust as needed, remove sharp edges on lever and action, beadblast to matte finish, refit and secure mag tube and forearm, deburr loading port, install alloy mag follower, recrown muzzle, throat and polish chamber, tighten barrel threads in receiver as needed, reassemble gun with screws loctited as needed, glassbed stock to receiver, smooth up outside of recoil pad as needed, & test fire. All of these I have done to date would shoot under MOA. $650

Add $35 for blue barrels
Drill & tap holes for front sight- $25 each
Remove rear sight, add dovetail filler- $20
Shorten magazine assy.- 1895 or other model with stud attached mag tube- $100

Alter customer supplied suppressor adapter to fit barrel threads- $25 minimum, no titanium adapters
In order to maintain a sufficient wall thickness in the barrel under the thread and maintain a shoulder to seat the suppressor against, no deviation from the above barrel length will be considered. Finer pitch threads will be considered as long as the outside diameter of the threads is no smaller than shown above. To my knowledge, no industry standards exist for this, so I will try to work with you to come up with a solution that will work.
At this time, I cannot supply thread protectors for these guns.
Barrel is removed for this service. Please remove any scopes or dot sights before sending gun in. Stock can also be removed for easier shipping. Call with any questions.
