This is a new sight design I have begun to offer. I call it the HD front sight. The roll pin is slightly larger and the blade is slightly longer than normal with a blade angle that is a little more holster friendly than my standard partridge style blades. Base width is also slightly narrower than previous sights. It gives an excellent sight picture with the blade style shown and looks more graceful than previous sights. It can be substituted for pinned blade sights for $10 extra. Just note when ordering.

Fixed blade front sights standard on some 6 shot conversions shown in the white. Blade is .110" wide and serrated.
The photos below will show how I go about making custom OM Ruger hammers.

Starting with a piece of 1/2" stress relieved 4140 steel plate, both sides of the hammer are cut down. The spur is partially shaped also.

All the holes thru the side of the part are drilled and reamed as needed.

The drilled plates are put in the wire EDM machine and each hammer is cut out. The EDM will machine the hammers to very tight tolerances and without leaving any burrs.

The hammer is put in a special fixture to allow slotting the back for the mainspring strut, milling the radius on the top of the spur, and making a clearance cut on the side.

The CNC controls and program guide the machine around all the curves in the part.

Next, the hammer is put in another fixture and spur is cut to the desired width and the radius is added to the back.

Another fixture is used to position hammer at the correct angle to drill the plunger hole.

Using a small double angle cutter, serrations are cut on the spur one line at a time. The fixture controls the spacing between lines while the machine cuts the line following the radius on top of spur.

Parts are rough polished and placed in furnace for heat treat. The wires are needed to quench the parts in oil after being brought up to temperature.

After heat treat, beadblasting and a final polish are done to ready parts for bluing.
